Gerster TechTex develops and manufactures Twisted cords & piping and piping for the highest technical requirements. The materials used range from classic natural fiber yarns such as cotton, wool, or flax, to synthetic yarns such as polyester, polypropylene, or polyamides. In addition, high-strength fibers such as Dyneema® or aramid, flame-retardant materials such as Trevira CS®, technical high-performance polymers such as PTFE, PVDF, PEEK, and PPS, as well as basalt.
Piping can be produced with a diameter of 1 mm to 25 mm. The soul will be unidirectional manufactured, while the winding yarn in any can be applied at an angle – both parallel and crosswise with up to 28 winding threads in the longitudinal direction. The rotation takes place in S- oder Z-Richtung. Cords are twisted from two to four such braids and are individually adjustable in diameters from 1.5 mm to 8.4 mm.
The twisted structure gives the products a particularly high dimensional stability as well as excellent mechanical properties. Tensile strength and tear resistance are guaranteed, as are flexibility in design. Thanks to the wide range of materials and adjustable wrapping angles, twisted cords and piping can be tailored precisely to the requirements of different industries.
