// Mechanical strength meets thermal resilience
Gerster TechTex offers ceramic fabric for demanding applications requiring the highest thermal and mechanical requirements must be met. High-performance fibers such as aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and high-silicate fibers based on S-glass are used, which are characterized by exceptional temperature resistance and stability. The fabrics are available in different orientations – both unidirectional as well as bidirectional – and can be customized with different types of weaves such as plain, twill, satin, or Panama. Wrinkle-free twisted fabrics can also be produced, resulting in a particularly smooth surface and high fiber orientation without creasing.
The width of the fabrics can be flexibly adjusted up to 320 cm, while the roll lengths can be up to 5000 meters on request. Depending on requirements, the materials can also be be combined with thermoplastics, for example to produce organo sheets. The ceramic fabrics are suitable for a wide variety of processing methods such as RTM (resin transfer molding), vacuum infusion, or pultrusion.
Thanks to their high temperature resistance, mechanical strength , and customizable structure, Gerster TechTex’s ceramic fabrics offer a powerful solution for industrial applications where conventional materials reach their limits. Twist-free fabrics in warp and weft directions ensure even material distribution and enable efficient further processing.
