Heating textiles from gerster TechTex combines state-of-the-art textile manufacturing technology with intelligent functionality. Thanks to a high material diversity both the carrier materials and the heating conductors can be individually adapted to customer requirements. Fabrics, films, non-wovens or grid structures are used as carriers. For the heating conductor will be, among other things carbon fibres, conductive yarns, resistance wires and strands used.

The heated textiles are manufactured using the active technology “crochet galon,” which enables precise and flexible placement of the heating elements—both in series and parallel circuits. Compared to embroidery, this method is not only faster but also more cost-effective. Production is available either as roll goods or in pre-cut pieces. Custom designs can be realized at any time. The heated textiles are characterized by short heating times, one even temperature distribution and a great drapeability . They can be easily integrated into existing processes such as laminating or laminating. Widths of up to 100 centimeters are possible.

The possible applications are diverse. Heating textiles are suitable as flexible heating for concrete formwork in the construction industry, for heating tents and tarpaulins, as de-icing systems, or as flexible mold heaters. They are also used in the field of renovation and monument preservation as local heating solution for the targeted drying of masonry. In addition, they offer a Space-saving solution for wall or ceiling heating systems in drywall construction. When installed on grids, they can be plastered directly. Other applications include heating systems for hospital beds and X-ray tables, as well as combination with textile sensors for temperature or humidity monitoring.
