Gerster TechTex manufactures Braids in numerous variants and with maximum precision. The following are used natural fibre yarns such as cotton, wool, or flax, as well as synthetic yarns based on polyester, polypropylene, polyamides, or Trevira CS®. Fibers made from natural polymers such as viscose or rayon, as well as Hochleistungsmaterialien such as Dyneema®, aramid, PTFE, PVDF, PEEK, and PPS are possible. This wide range of materials enables the development of application-specific solutions.
The braids are woven into different designs offered: round braids, wide braids (braided tapes), core-and-sheath braids, braided hoses, and braiding for cables or components. The diameters of the braided cords can be customized and range from extremely fine 0.02 mm to 40 mm. Various braiding techniques are also possible – from classic cross and normal braiding to tandem braiding with a complex structure before the crossing.
